Our New Home: The Kitchen

Los Angeles Style and Mom Blogger, RELish By Arielle shares a sneak peek into her family's new home in Burbank, CA

Welcome to the second post of our new series, "Our New Home" where we're featuring a room-by-room tour of our house (master bathroom post here). Today, we're excited to share snapshots of our kitchen with you--the heart of our home.  It was love at first sight for us with this kitchen because our home's previous owners did such a beautiful job designing it. The kitchen cabinets are black with brushed gold hardware. The walls are covered in white subway tile, and we especially love the butcher block wooden accents on the wall and on the kitchen's island.

Our Kitchen Tour

We're lucky to have SO much more cabinet space in this home, it's a wonder why we have some clutter overflow on countertops in these photos. I guess such is life with two toddlers! Decluttering will forever be my mission and maybe by the time our girls are in college, I'll win.

Speaking of countertops, it's hard to tell in these photos but they're white marble-inspired. We loved this countertop so much, we continued it in our guest bathroom reno which we'll be sharing soon too.Our floors are a dark hardwood and we love that they match the original 1940's floors throughout the rest of the house so beautifully. The kitchen island fits our space perfectly but since it only seats two at a time, one thing currently missing from this space is an island big enough for all of us. Thankfully, we also have a dining room as well as a nice big table outside where we can all sit together as a family. If you've been following along for a while, you'll know that cooking is definitely not my specialty but this kitchen literally makes me want to try (sharing actual evidence here!). I dream of all of the parties we will host and milestones we will celebrate together in this space.

What are your must-haves when it comes to kitchens?  What can you live with out, and what MUST you splurge on? Are you team all white everything, pops of color or dark cabinetry? Tell us ALL the things in the comment section below. As always, thanks so much for stopping by and follow along for more "Our New Home" tour posts each week.
