Baby Update: 11 Months
How is Naiya already 11 months old today? When she was born, and people told me that the days would be long but the years would be short, they seriously weren't kidding.
I'm still in awe of this whole mom-ing thing. When we go out now and I see babies 0-3 months old, I can't believe how giant Naiya has become next to them in such a short amount of time.
Sharing an 11 month baby and mom update with you today as well as some of our latest Naiya photos because we just can't stop snapping away.
Walking Like a Champ
Naiya started walking at nine months and I honestly don't think we've sat down ever since. This month, she's been running around with so much energy, it's become harder and harder to keep up!
Our family room is now completely caged in, baby-proofed and it's toy-central. Naiya's favorite new game this month is running around with a little walker on wheels. She pushes it from one end of the room to the other and screams along the way.
I could watch her go back and forth all day because...#momlife.
Our Nursery Update
Our Nursery continues to grow with our ever-growing baby. We've of course dropped her crib down so that she can't climb out of it. I still sleep with one eye open because I'm convinced she'll figure it out. We've been trying all different crib sheets in it as well to switch it up.
We're currently loving Crib Culture sheets which are only $20.45 for a two pack! Naiya has a pretty modern nursery and we love the pop of color and simple pattern these add. They're also organic and wash really well.New Mamas: for 25% off of your order of Crib Culture sheets, follow this link here and type in 25RELISHBYA at checkout.
Naiya's Nusery (Continued)
We also added a bunch of prints into Naiya's nursery by Meri Meri. We framed prints of a mermaid, unicorn, cactus and rainbow because we loved the pops of color.
We topped off the prints with a special print we found on ETSY that includes the lyrics to the Beatles song "In My Life."
Since Naiya's middle name is Lennon, we thought this print would be fitting. We love singing this song to Naiya when we put her down to sleep. We also added some fun synthetic green plants, a playmat by Little Nomad (similar here), an elephant hamper and this super-affordable baby camera by Yi Home (only $60!).
More 11 Month Updates
Naiya still has only two teeth but she has 4-5 coming in all at once. From what I can see, they're mostly on the top. I can only imagine how much they're going to change her little smile. For now, we're pretty obsessed with her giant smile with two tiny bottom teeth.
Naiya has still been sleeping through the night despite all of her teething and we feel so lucky. Being able to put her down around 8pm every night and having the time to sit with Phil and actually spend one-on-one time together has been such a game-changer.
For all of you new parents out there who are wondering how long it will be until you have some semblance of your normal lives back, it really did take us 6-months to get there (and every month since then, it's been getting easier and easier).
Overall, I think Phil and I have been getting out of the house on weekends a lot more than ever. We've decided to plan as many Naiya activities on weekends outside the house so we don't become hermits. In the beginning, it was so hard to rally to get out of the house because it was so exhausting to gather everything we'd need in order to do it.
This past month, we've bit the bullet more and more and it's been pretty amazing to get out and experience the world with our daughter.
