Girl With A Pearl Necklace

LA mom and style blogger, RELish By Arielle, wears a lariat gold pearl necklace from Bora Bora

French Polynesia is known for its beautiful black pearls. When we first arrived in Bora Bora (more here), everywhere we looked, local women and tourists alike were wearing them. I found the pearls to be fascinating--especially since they're sourced from the island and they're so precious.

Pearl Shopping in Bora Bora

When Phil and I ventured out of our hotel to visit the main island one day, we couldn't help but explore the pearl shops lining the main street. The shops were pretty unassuming but the pearls inside spanned the gamut from relatively affordable to uber-expensive and everything in between.

As with any type of pearl, the quality of each individual  black pearl dictated its price. After trying on a number of different pieces of black pearl jewelry, I ended up falling in love with this particular gold "lariat" champagne-colored pearl necklace. It's such a classic layering piece that pairs so beautifully with other simple gold necklaces. Needless to say, I definitely do NOT regret my decision!

Once we got back to the states and I started posting this necklace here on my blog, a number of you reached out asking where it was from. Linking to a similar piece I found on Etsy which happens to be much more affordable.

Also linking to a similar initial necklace to the one I'm wearing in these shots that I never take off.  It's so dainty and has my daughters' initials on it which are so special to me. I can't recommend it enough! What are your favorite pieces of jewelry that you never take off? Which pieces of jewelry that you own tell the best stories of your travels and experiences? Tell me all the things in the comment section below and as always, thanks so much for stopping by.

My love for everyday, dainty gold jewelry continues. I scooped up this open circle "lariat" pearl necklace on our recent trip to Bora Bora. Ever since, I've been wearing it almost daily and a lot of you have reached out asking where to score a similar piece. Today, I'm sharing with how I've been styling this necklace and where you can find one too.
